Easter Recap

We had a very busy and very fun Easter weekend.

It started Wednesday when we went to the library for story hour. The Easter Bunny was there handing out treats. Lucy was a bit skittish of the bunny. She stuck to me like glue at first, so we stood back and watched some other kids go see the bunny and get their treat. After a little bit I asked her if she wanted to go up and see the bunny and she said "yeah, bunny don't touch me though." !! She is the greatest!!!! (I think the treats are what convinced her it would be okay to go up.)
After the library trip (and treat) she was really into the whole Easter thing.

On Thursday Lucy painted the paper mache egg we had made. She loves to paint and was very serious about this project, until she started sniffing the paint. I am not sure what was up with that but it was pretty funny. She painted very seriously, very quietly and fairly neatly for at least a half hour while I did some other things. We will be painting often I think. :)

On Thursday evening we dyed Easter eggs. It was Lucy's first time and it went surprisingly well. Hardly any dye got spilled and Lucy only got a little on her self. At the last minute before we started I decided to take her clothes off of her, which turned out to be a good idea. For a few days she had small speckles across her chest.

On Friday we went to the bounce house place with Aunt Joyce. It was so much fun!! Aunt Joyce bounced with Lucy while I held Freddy and took pictures. We switched for a little bit, and while Joyce had Freddy a woman told her her baby was beautiful. Everyone had a great day!

Jim, Julie and Molly got to town late Thursday night. Unfortunately they didn't get much sleep that night and Jim was sick. Molly was starting to get sniffly too so they didn't get to go with us to bounce but we had lots of fun with them later in the weekend.

I love this picture because it really captures the craziness of Lucy at the bounce houses. It took her a little bit to assess the place and warm up to it, but once she got going there was no stopping her.

Saturday was spent cleaning the house and chilling at home.

Easter Sunday:

This was Lucy's first egg hunt. Last year the Bunny brought her a basket but it wasn't hidden and there weren't any eggs. She really liked it and has requested to have Easter eggs a few times since. She got a plastic egg that you can turn on and it calls out and whistles and stuff to help you find out when it is hidden, we have played with that lots. She is getting really good at stopping to listen for it and then heading in the direction it is calling from. It is a really fun toy.

The kids both got lots of fun stuff and candy in their baskets. Lucy went straight for her chocolate, a girl after my own heart. :)

The Easter Bunny must not have realized how little Freddy is because there were Peeps and chocolate bunnies in his basket too. Mommy and Daddy took care of that for him. ;)
(I need to figure out how to photoshop my arm out of this picture!)

Best video of all:

In case you can't understand her she says "bite that?" and then she says "I like that treat!" Ah Peeps, the best treat of Easter! :)

Molly had a great time playing with Lucy's toys. The tool belt is a good look for her.

Oma, Grandpa, Jim, Julie, Molly, Granny and Kim came over for breakfast around 9:00. The girls got lots of time to play together.

After a couple of hours we put our kids in the car and Jim and Julie put Molly in their car so that the girls would get a little bit of a nap before the big egg hunt at Oma and Grandpa's house. We didn't have to drive far to get Lucy to go to sleep.

Some pictures from the Big Egg Hunt:

Daddy and Freddy

It was very sunny but cold out, so there aren't any pictures that you can see Freddy in during the egg hunt. You'll just have to trust me that that blanket Dave is carrying around contains Freddy. :)

There are more pictures and more videos, check out the links to see them. Freddy has been asleep for a couple of hours and I have missed out on that sleeping time to blog for you. So now I say "goodnight!"
