Scattered Thoughts

Last night was Lucy's dance recital and she was fantastic! She was adorable and had fun being up on stage. It was an experience we won't be repeating so we made the most of it last night. (I will try to get the pics downloaded off the camera soon.) The kids are very tired from two busy late nights, we had rehearsal Monday night, so we are just chilling at home today. Freddy loved the recital though, he kept saying "pretty girls!" He rocks! :D

A big thunderstorm passed through last night too. Usually the kids sleep through storms but last night it woke them and they were scared so I ended up, trying to, sleep in a very crowded bed. It was nice to have them both snuggled in close, but I am tired this morning! It is raining again now and we are supposed to get more storms this afternoon. I hope it doesn't storm at nap time, we all need a rest today.

Besides being tired I am suddenly feeling a bit anxious about how prepared we are for the baby. (So I apologize for the disorganized thoughts in this post.) Dave is going to come home in a little while and bring up the baby clothes and car seat from the basement so I can get them cleaned up. I sure hope this isn't the real nesting burst because I am so not ready! The stork says I still have a month and I am holding him to it!

The nesting instinct is starting to kick in. I think I've got everyone's behind covered. ;)

Evie's alpacas are being sheared today. This is Dublin and he is being very well behaved, he knows how much cooler he will be in a few minutes. It's like taking a little kid for their first haircut. :)

Their shirts came in, now I can take them to work. I hope they start getting a paycheck now too.

Lucy went for a check up at the eye doctor today and this new prescription is good! Finally! She doesn't have to go back until October. While we were there she got some clip-on sunglasses. She is very happy with them. She is also very happy with and cute in her new tank top I just finished. I love that I she likes (most) of what I make for her.

Napping and Farming

Freddy has just made a drastic switch in life. He has very abruptly decided not to take naps. He went from taking 3+ hour naps last week to not napping at all now. What the heck?!? He has always been a good sleeper (except for when he is sick). I don't think he is really ready to give up napping, and I am certainly not ready for him to be done!

It is over 90 today so I am trying to have a very chill day. My hands and feet are starting to feel a bit puffy and if I attempt to do anything more difficult than walk across the yard I start huffing and puffing. This morning we went to Ganny and Poppa's house instead of the diner so that we can sit on the big breezy front porch. It was fantastic! After that we came home and filled up the wading pool. I think after this no nap quiet time we are going to watch a movie, I just can't handle much else today. Lucy has dance class later, if she didn't I would take the kids in to somewhere air conditioned like the museum, but we just don't have time today. :( It is supposed to be cooler tomorrow and anyway, I was thinking I might set up the drum carder and get some wool ready to be spun. (Thanks for bringing it Jim and Julie!)

On the subject of wool, Dave was trying to teach himself how to shear the sheep. Well, after this weekend he finally gave up and decided to call someone. He got a recommendation for Evie's alpaca people and he took Chex and Pebbles on Monday. Oatmeal is quite a bit bigger than the other two and she has horns so he couldn't get her into the trailer with the other two. She will be going later this week. The woman who sheared the two girls did an awesome job, the fleeces were all in one piece that you could actually pick up and look at. That is how it is supposed to be done, so yeah we have a shearer!!! It was way way cheaper to have done than we thought too. When Dave got home he said that it was a huge weight off his shoulders that he doesn't have that job to do too.

It is time to go tell the children they can get up now. I hope we can not fight this afternoon, my patience is getting shorter in direct proportion to how much bigger my belly is getting. :)

Thanks for the present Daddy!!! We have only played with it for five minutes and it has already been a tunnel and then a house. And Lucy hasn't even seen it yet. There are some benefits to living next door to work. :)
