Lucy just called me in to see the project she made. This is what she said "It's the princess we saw on TV this morning." The green part at the top is her veil and she wants to add sleeves later when this part dries. She is so cool!

THE Wedding

A brief recap of our Royal Wedding experience: ;)

Freddy and I tuned in just in time to see Cate leave the hotel with her father. Freddy loved the car they rode in. The only thing to trump the car is the carriage with all the horses. The garbage man was even ignored this morning in favor of the carriages and horses!

Lucy got up a bit later. She just excitedly said "Are those the flower girls? I was a flower girl in Uncle Freddy and Aunt Gina's wedding. And Anna's wedding!" She likes the horses best, the Princess second best. :)

Freddy was briefly confused about the Princess being named Cate and cousin Kate. He said something about "Kate, born." I told him "No, baby Kate is in Massachusetts" and he said "chusets" like that cleared it all up. :) I am pretty sure he has a bit of a crush on the Princess now.

Now I have to time the rest of our morning routine so I don't miss the kiss on the balcony!!!! :)

So, this morning Lucy says to me "I love your belly because it is sooo huge." And here is a picture to show she's not kidding. :D

Spring?

Could spring really finally be here? The furnace is off and the windows are open, at least until the thunderstorms and cold front come through later today. :/ We will be going out to play for as long as possible!!!

Yesterday afternoon a thunderstorm passed through. Lucy ran from window to window saying "I love thunderstorms!!!" Freddy whined, climbed in my lap, then climbed down, found his sunglasses and put them on, then climbed back in my lap. He also covered his ears off and on. It should be interesting this week, there are more storms predicted for everyday this week. (Gus didn't care at all about the storm.)

Both kids woke up at 5:00am this morning, wide awake and ready to go. What's up with that?!? I hope this is not a new trend for the summer, I am tired!!! ;) When Freddy was sick last week he did not sleep well and I am having trouble recovering. I slept pretty well last night but it must have been because I was so exhausted. Dave said he thinks his side is bruised this morning from the baby kicking so much in the middle of the night. He said he has no idea how I could have slept through it. I fear that this baby is going to be a night owl.

By the way, did you notice that we are down to less than 90 days?! This being a third child I am not worried about not having stuff ready, we have SO MUCH stuff. We got the one necessity that we were lacking, our van. Now that everyone can ride together I guess we are set. The crib has never been taken down, it hasn't gone unused since we bought it. And considering that it is one of the cribs that has not had a recall on it, it was an excellent purchase. Thanks Jim and Julie for taking us to the Ikea in MA a little over four years ago!

The dog must have gotten into the garbage because I just caught him chewing on a tea bag. I know I am lucky that that is the thing he chose out of there, but it still looks pretty gross. Time to go round up bits of tea. I hope you also get to enjoy a beautiful spring day today!

My baby is sick. :( He woke up with a fever this morning. He has been asleep sitting up like this on the couch for about 2 hours now. Of all the days to be sick and need quiet this was a good one to pick, Lucy is away on spring break. She is spending a couple of days at Grandma and BobBob's all by herself! :) She has been asking to go there by herself for months and we finally got the chance. So I have one sick baby here and one baby that I am missing.

The house is growing. :) This is the view from just outside the garage. It looks a little like Lincoln logs in this picture but it is really coming along. All the first floor walls are up!

She is VERY happy with her new twirly dress. :) She recently complained that her dresses weren't twirly enough so when I saw this one online I knew I had to make it. I have a feeling I will be making a couple more. I am so relieved and happy because she is sooo happy with it. :)

Eye Doctor Revisited

Or should that just be visited again? Last month Lucy saw the eye doctor and he prescribed stronger lenses. Today we went back so he check how she was doing with them. Well, not good enough apparently because we ended up with an even stronger prescription. :( OMG! While I was typing the dog snuck out to the kitchen and nabbed a stick of butter off the counter!!! He slurped it all down before I could grab it. Aaahhh what is that going to do to his digestion!!!! If you are thinking of getting a puppy I say don't do it!!! Anyway, back to my story. I thought her appointment would be a fairly quick one like last time so I didn't bother asking anyone to watch Freddy while we went. We ended up being there for ore than 2 hours! Fortunatley they got plenty of time in their very nice children's waiting rooms and each exam room has a TV in it. They use the screens to show their special kid's eye charts, which are pretty cool, and while you are waiting for the doctor instead of piped in music they have a Baby Einstein music and animation DVD running. Not what I choose to watch at home but it makes waiting and getting through appoinments so much easier! The doctor decided he wanted to put eye drops in and look at her again. Lucy totally freaked out about the drops this time. It was awful!!!! I had to hold her down so they could put them in. It made me feel so sad. And there was poor Freddy sitting so politely in his chair looking horrified about what was happening to his Sissy. She recovered pretty quickly and he was super well behaved so we got through it alright. We ended up with a new stronger prescription for her which should be in early next week and another appointment for her at the begining of June. While the doctor was in, he strongly recomended that I make an appointment for him to see Freddy. Since Lucy is sooo far sighted and it tends to be genetic, he really thinks Freddy should have a full exam. The younger you find out the better he said. So next month I will be taking Freddy for the full, eye drop included, exam. Great fun! In other news, the kids and I all have stuffy noses and Dave has got a whooper of a cold. Keep your fingers crossed for us they we don't all get it as bad as he has it. Dave is the only one who didn't get a flu shot so maybe he has the flu and we aren't so sick becuase we did get shots. Of course he could just be sicker than us because he is on extreme sleep deprivation. He was out all night on a fire call a few nights ago and ended up really suffering from this cold the next day. The worst part is that we can't go see baby Kate now! :( As soon as we stop sniffling we will be going!!!!

Speaking of new cousins, we had a canine cousin meeting today. Luke happened to be nearby so he stopped to meet Luke. They had a great time despite the size difference. :)

Today we went to the Museum of Play with Noah. The three of them were so cute, walking in holding hands. Freddy was so excited to go see Noah. He told everyone he saw this morning that he was going to see him. Those 2 will be getting into some mischief in the future!
