Eye Doctor Revisited

Or should that just be visited again? Last month Lucy saw the eye doctor and he prescribed stronger lenses. Today we went back so he check how she was doing with them. Well, not good enough apparently because we ended up with an even stronger prescription. :( OMG! While I was typing the dog snuck out to the kitchen and nabbed a stick of butter off the counter!!! He slurped it all down before I could grab it. Aaahhh what is that going to do to his digestion!!!! If you are thinking of getting a puppy I say don't do it!!! Anyway, back to my story. I thought her appointment would be a fairly quick one like last time so I didn't bother asking anyone to watch Freddy while we went. We ended up being there for ore than 2 hours! Fortunatley they got plenty of time in their very nice children's waiting rooms and each exam room has a TV in it. They use the screens to show their special kid's eye charts, which are pretty cool, and while you are waiting for the doctor instead of piped in music they have a Baby Einstein music and animation DVD running. Not what I choose to watch at home but it makes waiting and getting through appoinments so much easier! The doctor decided he wanted to put eye drops in and look at her again. Lucy totally freaked out about the drops this time. It was awful!!!! I had to hold her down so they could put them in. It made me feel so sad. And there was poor Freddy sitting so politely in his chair looking horrified about what was happening to his Sissy. She recovered pretty quickly and he was super well behaved so we got through it alright. We ended up with a new stronger prescription for her which should be in early next week and another appointment for her at the begining of June. While the doctor was in, he strongly recomended that I make an appointment for him to see Freddy. Since Lucy is sooo far sighted and it tends to be genetic, he really thinks Freddy should have a full exam. The younger you find out the better he said. So next month I will be taking Freddy for the full, eye drop included, exam. Great fun! In other news, the kids and I all have stuffy noses and Dave has got a whooper of a cold. Keep your fingers crossed for us they we don't all get it as bad as he has it. Dave is the only one who didn't get a flu shot so maybe he has the flu and we aren't so sick becuase we did get shots. Of course he could just be sicker than us because he is on extreme sleep deprivation. He was out all night on a fire call a few nights ago and ended up really suffering from this cold the next day. The worst part is that we can't go see baby Kate now! :( As soon as we stop sniffling we will be going!!!!
