Happy Birthday Party Henry!

Freddy wins the Big Brother Award for today. I was in the kitchen doing dishes amd he came out and said "Henry is on the doll house table.". I said I would be right there but I did not take the "on the table" part literally. My mistake!!!! 

Henry really was ON the table! He must have climbed up from the chair Lucy (the shorty) uses to reach the third story of her house. He was super proud of himself. That kid is an evil genious!

Introducing my newborn nephew Jameson David! He was born at 5:11 this morning, two weeks early but still weighing in at 7lbs 12oz! Congratulations Rick and Gina! And a special congratulations to Big Brother Noah!!

Today for science camp we went on a field trip to the Zoo with our friend Max. The Zoo is super packed today and it is hot out so I would not say that this has been our best visit ever but no one has thrown a tantrum or collapsed sobbing so I would count it is a success. 

This week we are having a science camp here at home because that is this week's theme at preschool camp (and I couldn't send them both for another week of camp). This morning we did a couple of baking soda and vinegar experiments. The pans on the left I had put a layer of baking soda in and the the kids used eye droppers to drip food colored vinegar on it. That kept Freddy entertained for a good 20 minutes and Lucy happy for twice as long. 

On the right is the pan of sponge candy I made while the kids watched (way too hot for them to help with). It was exciting to watch the pan of sugar grow into a huge foamy pile. All three of us can't wait for it to cool so we can taste it!

Freddy has started to look so much older. :/ I can't believe he will be starting preschool in a little over a month!

I just finished making Henry's trial birthday cake.  It is an allergen free carrot cake. I hope it tastes as good as it smells!

We're Having a Party!

I don't know if you have noticed, but the little baby at the top of the screen is almost to the 1 year mark. That means it is time to plan Henry's birthday party! I can't believe he is about to turn one already, it goes by so fast now with 3 to keep up with. He is starting to look like a little boy and leaving babyhood behind. :/

His party will be here at our house (not the farm sadly, the plumbing is getting close but isn't done yet), on Sunday, July 29th at 12:30.  As is our lazy way, consider this your invite. :)

Our septic system is done!! This is our leech field, and our first grass planting. The health department has to come inspect it and then we can have actual, for real running water and toilets. :)

Or not camping at the farm. Living room camping for Lucy, bed for the boys. :(

Good morning!

The kids had an awesome time trying out cousin Marc's fishing pole at the Lake last weekend, so we picked up a couple of poles this week. (Try not to notice our burned up grass, it has not been raining.)

Soccer

We have been on the go everyday for a couple of weeks and it had really caught up with us. We canceled some plans this week, and rearranged others so we could have some chill out time at home. It seems to me that it worked and everyone is feeling much better/in better moods. However, in order to get the boys to bed on time last night, I had to miss Lucy's first soccer game. Luckily for me though, Kim and Granny did go and Granny is a great photographer and blogger (although, I am pretty sure Kim must have done some of the picture taking this time since Granny is in some of the pictures ;) ). Today we met some friends at the zoo. It was a billion degrees out but we had a fantastic time! Henry LOVED the elephants! 

I cannot say enough how much I love Pinterest.com!!!!!! My family is clothed, fed and entertained on an almost daily basis from that website. If you haven't checked it out yet you must be living under a rock- I mean, you should try it out! 
Today's activity is an "Amazing Water Blob", made out of a plastic drop cloth and duct tape. 

I finshed my rug last night!!! It is already a popular spot to hang out. Just before I took this picture I had to break up a fight between Fred and Gus over who could lay in the middle. :)
